“One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish” and “The Cat in the Hat” were favorite books of mine as a kid, and I’ve been reading picture books ever since. Growing up, I pored over my mother’s collection of European and Japanese children’s books. So it was only natural I’d make my own someday!
Combining my design background with my illustration skills, I enjoy creating books for preschoolers that feature bright and modern characters. I’m comfortable writing and illustrating stories, creating books with special features (i.e., die-cuts, fold outs or other printing effects) or illustrating publisher-proposed picture books. I especially love working with writers and editors to bring out the best in a story.
Publishers that I’ve worked with include Bayard Canada, Éditions Les 400 coups and Auzou. I’m a member of the international Society of Children’s Books Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), Illustration Québec, The Canadian Children’s Book Centre and Communication-Jeunesse.
My first book, “Le Vélo de Petit Lion,” was recognized in 2015 for excellence in illustration by the 3×3 Picture Book Show in New York and was shortlisted in the World Illustration Awards in London.
I work in both English and French and am constantly experimenting and developing my style. Check out my SCBWI portfolio page for samples of my work.
